1.5 – Shape and Composite Lay up Design of Multilayer Composite Structures Using the Snyman-Fatti Algorithm

We consider the simultaneous optimal shape and composite layup design of two structures. The cost function is multimodal since we consider the composite layup design problem. In addition the cost function is step discontinuous resulting from the remeshing strategy used to discretize the various geometrical domains. The global search gradient based Snyman-Fatti algorithm is used to optimize the resulting multimodal and step discontinuous cost functions.
