Full digital control of common leg converter based on high efficiency switching method

This paper proposes a novel control method about high efficiency operation for common leg power converter. The proposed method gives modulation by using Golden Section Method (GSM), which is calculated by the voltage references, the dc-link voltage, the converter current, and the IGBT loss characteristics. The proposed method obtains high efficiency operation under any load conditions. The control system is constructed by using DSP. The proposed method applies to three-phase active filter and single-phase UPS. The high efficiency performance of the proposed method demonstrates through experimental tests. The proposed method improves converter efficiency more than 2[%].
