Thermally poled PANDA fibre device with microstrip electrode

A novel thermally poled electro-optic PANDA fibre device is reported. The device was made from a piece of side-polished commercial PANDA fibre with a microstrip electrode deposited on the polished flat. The device demonstrated very stable performance with an electro-optic coefficient of /spl sim/0.4 pm/V.
