A Technical Research towards 5G SLA: System Definition, Sense and Assurance Solution

As 5G network technology is being widely used in many vertical industries like Internet of Vehicles and Industrial Internet of Things, vertical industry users have higher requirements for network quality and they want the network quality to be guaranteed in some manner. Industry users clarify their requirements for 5G network quality by signing 5G SLA (Service Level Agreement) with operators. Given that there is no uniform standard for 5G SLA, and the assurance of network quality as well as the sale of network service cannot be well explained on basis of any specification for current situation, this paper puts forward 5G SLA attribute system and the framework mapping attribute requirements to network functions, according to relative specifications and the requirements of 5G industry users. For performance attributes like end-to-end network delay, jitter, packet loss and bandwidth which impact business quality a lot and are not easy to sensed and assured, this paper proposes a hybrid and intelligent method combining active measurement with passive measurement. The solution is high-precision, automatic and intelligent, and it supports insensible deployment for users and current business. By applying the solution to 5G industry private networks, the network quality can be “sensed”, “visualized”, and “assured”, so as to facilitate 5G offering better service for vertical industries.
