The third English, the edition under review, is an authorised translation from the eleventh German. Alterations are numerous, especially in the sections on diseases of the cornea, iritis sympathetic ophthalmia, choroditis, glauconm, diseases of the optic nerve and orbit, and disorders of motility and refraction ; and over one hundred new illustrations have been added by Dr. Fuchs. Dr. Duane also has added a consid-
