Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) has become a hot research topic in the next generation wireless networks. To maximize the network throughput, which route selection strategy should be used has become a key research problem recently. Based on the analysis of the existent WMNs' route selection strategies, a novel routing metric is proposed in this paper, termed WCETTR which integrates the hop counts, qualities of channel, the inevitable and potential multichannel interfere among links. It is demonstrated in the simulation that the algorithm will improve the network throughput greatly.
