The Concern about and the application of radiant cooling systems are increasing because of the increase of the concern about environmental problems, energy savings and human comforts. Especially in Korea, because a radiant floor panels are already installed in most of buildings, additional advantages could be expected if these existing systems are utilized. Therefore, application of radiant floor cooling system for residential building is making an attempt. Generally, the first and most important task in designing a cooling system is to establish room design conditions. Thus, in order to apply a radiant floor cooling system in a residential building, it is necessary to review the room design conditions for this system. Radiant cooling systems have a heat transfer method different from convective cooling systems. also these have additional factors that have to be considered in the view point of comfort. Thus, room design conditions for appling a radiant floor cooling system have to be deduced through occupants' experience in the real space with the system. Therefore, in this study, field experiment was conducted during summer in a residential building with radiant floor cooling system. Selecting pattern on the indoor set-temperature and floor surface temperature was analyzed as the room design conditions for a radiant floor cooling system design.
