The device comprises a 3D camera interface unit used for receiving to-be-measured image sequences, obtained through a 3D camera and containing depth information, of hands of a user, a contour detection unit used for detecting the contours of the hands of the user, a characteristic point sequence determining unit used for determining the to-be-measured characteristic point sequence of each hand, an action recognition unit used for determining a matched sequence of the to-be-measured characteristic point sequence of each hand in multiple preset characteristic point sequences and determining the action name and the position of the hand, a gesture determining unit used for selecting gestures with the action names and the positions matched with those of the two hands of the user in a preset gesture table, an instruction determining unit used for determining operation constructions corresponding to the recognized gestures, and an executing unit used for conducting corresponding operation on related devices. By means of the technology, the gestures of the user can be accurately recognized in the man-machine interaction process, the recognition accuracy is high, and the recognition speed is high.
