Editorial: "Artificial Neural Networks in Brazil: An Introduction to the Special Issue of IJNS"

The Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks (SBRN), which is now in its Vth edition, is organized by the Interest Group on Neural Networks (NN) of the Brazilian Computer Society since 1994. In order to promote research in Neural Networks and scientific interaction among Brazilian NN researchers and practitioners, and with their counterparts worldwide, it is being organized as an international forum since 1996. The SBRN proceedings are normally published into two volumes, one for papers submitted in Portuguese and the other for papers in English [1][2].
