End to End Vital Sign Monitoring System with FM-UWB Technology

Non-invasive and contact-less monitoring and low power wireless communication is very much demanding in medical and smart home scenarios for health care monitoring system. Here, we present a novel integrated solution for health care monitoring system specially for heart beat variability (HBV). Both sensing and communication is based on the Frequency Modulated Ultra Wide Band technology. Moreover, we showed the mathematical analysis of the sensing signal which directly gives the heart's beat frequency at the sensing receiver's end and finally, this value is communicated to the other end like medical repository, etc. Error in measurement of heart movement is calculated for our complete integrated system, as it is expected, FM-UWB monitoring and communication system, gives low error in heart movement measurement even for low SNR value. Henceforth, we can say that our proposed system could work with lower power level compared with other Ultra Wideband systems.
