CHEMICAL ASPECTS OF MOLTEN FLUORIDE REACTORS

Reactors which utilize circulating liquids as fnels pose serious problems in chemistry and chemical engineering as substitutes for the difficult mechanical problems of more conventional'' reactor designs. The Aircraft Reactor Experiment recently demonstrated the feasibility of such a reactor using a molten salt mixture as the circulating fuel. This paper describes what appear to be adequate solutions to many of the chemical problems of high-temperature reactors of this class. (auth)
