A new soft-switching DC/DC converter and its application in an off-line power supply with integral high-quality rectification

A new DC/DC power converter featuring zero voltage switching under all loading conditions is described. Control of the power converter is achieved with constant-frequency complementary pulse-width modulation of the two switches. In offline power supply applications, the power converter is able to provide automatic line-current shaping while retaining fast regulation of the output voltage, with the addition of only a small inductor.
