Technical evaluation of an electronic millimeter wave pre-view mirror

For several years, autonomous intelligent cruise control (AICC) systems as well as anti-collision radar have been developed and are currently being sold by the manufacturers. These systems work at microwave frequencies. These equipment use active sensors based on microwave sources to generate and modulate RF power. Such sources are a little expensive since they are still close to the state of the technology. Thus, it seems interesting, from an economic and technical point of view, to use these millimeter RF sources to develop sensors supporting several functions simultaneously. This paper explores the possibility of slightly modifying such a microwave sensor to support the anti-collision functions and a high bandwidth vehicle-to-vehicle communication link simultaneously.
