Adaptive sliding mode control of uncertain nonlinear switched systems: A new design

This brief studied the adaptive control for switched systems with uncertainty through sliding mode technique. A linear sliding surface (LSS) is established as a result that the system in sliding phase are totally invariable to uncertainty. Then, in light of Lyapunov stability theory, linear matrix inequality (LMI) and average dwell time (ADT) method, the stability condition of the switched systems is derived. An adaptive controller is then developed to assure the finite-time accessibility of the predesigned LSS. Finally, the validity of developed scheme can be confirmed by a numerical example.
