Dynamic Monte Carlo scaling method for polymers

Abstract We present a simple Monte Carlo scaling scheme based on Wilson's Monte Carlo renormalization group ideas for calculating the static (ν) and dynamic ( z ) critical exponents for a polymer chain in a good solution. For a chain with Rouse dynamics, we recover the dynamical scaling results, z = 2 + 1/ν. Numerical results suggest that the slithering snake model of Wall and Mandel for the dynamics is in a different dynamical universality class than the Rouse chain.
