A Improved Base Station Cooperative Mobile Strategy for WSN with Finite Powered Cluster Heads

When events happened in a cluster based static wireless sensor network (WSN), those nodes around cluster heads (CHs) have extremely fast power consumption rate since they have to forward all event data to the CHs. This is so called "Hot Spot" problem. Many attempts have been made to solve this problem. CH hybrid mobile strategy (CH HMS) is one of the most effective solutions. CH HMS assumes controlled CHs. When certain event happens, CH moves to an optimized position which could help evenly distribute power consumption for the whole network. However, this strategy does not considere the power consumption of the CHs themselves since it assumes unlimited powered CHs. This paper proposes an improved base station (BS) mobile strategy that could help to save CH power consumption for a limited powered CH with dynamic transmission power adjustment unit.
