Antenna gain calibration using time-domain gating in extrapolation range for V-band pyramidal horn antennas

A simple method is presented to calibrate the gain of pyramidal horn antennas operating in the millimeter-wave frequency band. The time-domain gating techniques in extrapolation range reduce the number of measurement positions and obtain the gain of antennas in wide frequency ranges faster than conventional method. The time-domain gating techniques also allow us to remove all unwanted reflection from surrounding objects, and achieve accurate antenna gain calibration. In this paper, the results measured by the conventional extrapolation method and the time-domain gating method are compared by measuring three V-band pyramidal horn antennas
