Biological, psychological, and social characteristics of men with different smoking habits.

The study was supported by research grants HE-03429 and HE-10326 from the National Institutes of Health and by grants from the American and North Carolina Heart Associations and the Irwin Strasburger Memorial Medical Foundation of New York. The data were gathered as part of the Western Collaborative Group Study conducted by the Harold Brunn Institute of San Francisco, with Dr. Rosenman the principal investigator. The statistical analyses were performed by Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Zyzanski at the Department of Epidemiology of the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
