EFFECT OF NUMBER OF ACTUATORS ON OPTIMUM ACTIVELY CONTROLLED STRUCTURES

This paper deals with the investigation of the number and location of actuators and sensors on the optimum structure and control design of space structures. The optimization problem is posed with the objective of minimizing the weight of the structure and satisfying constraints on the closed-loop eigenvalue distribution and damping parameters. The allocation of the actuators for a specific disturbance is based on the work done by the individual actuators.
