Listless SPECK(LSK) algorithm was proposed to overcome the shortcoming that the hardware implementation of SPECK(Set Partitioning Embedded Block Coder) algorithm needs too much memory.Instead of lists,a state table with two bits per coefficient is used to keep track of the block coding and the information that has been encoded.Then the image data is stored as an one dimensional recursive zigzag array for highly computational efficiency and algorithmic simplicity.This algorithm proposed in this paper has a high rate of coding and adaptation of hardware.In the paper,the 9/7 lifting schemes and uniform quantization are employed in wavelet transform.Performance of the proposed algorithm on standard test images is nearly same as SPECK,and better than SPHIT.
