Enhancing robustness of information hiding against interference of communication with turbo code

This paper presents a novel robust information hiding technique which uses channel codes derived from the error-correcting coder. Digital watermarks, encoded by turbo encoder, are embedded in the wavelet transform domain of the original image. Simulation noise, in the AWGN channel and the Rayleigh fading channel of communication, is added into the watermarked images. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can successfully resist vast noise and extract hidden information, even though the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is much lower. The extracted hidden messages show that the proposed scheme is superior to a non turbo-code scheme.
