Glossary of computer vision terms in connection to information fusion

Connection to InformationFusion Manfred Prantl, Harald Ganster, Axel Pinz This glossary intends to extend the Haralick-Shapiro glossary of computer vision terms [12] in the direction of information fusion in image understanding. It certainly re ects our personal point of view, which is illustrated by Fig. 1.1. This gure shows a general diagram of processes (ellipses) and representations (boxes) involved in image understanding. The upper half of the diagram re ects the `real world' and the lower half its representation in the computer. We distinguish between data ow (solid arrows) and control ow (dashed arrows). A detailed step-by-step development of this system model for image understanding is given in [17].
