Analysis on OpenGIS Web Map Tile Service Implementation Standard

With carefully digesting the OpenGIS Web Map Tile Service Implementation Standard version 1.0,and comparing with certain peer community specifications,this paper studied the technical features of WMTS and concluded that: In addition to the normal tiled map service,this standard featured in supporting multi-style,multi-dimension,multi-CRS(coordinate reference system) and URL pattern diversity,as a result,it is more difficult to be implemented and so need developers pay more efforts on understanding this standard.
