Research on optimal speed characteristics of centrifugal pump in seawater cooling intelligent pipe-network

As seawater-cooling intelligent pipe-network performances under varied conditions,thehydraulic characteristicand flow requirements of the seawater users in the pipe network change. Variable speed pump could meet the changes. Aim to reduce redundant seawater supply of the users and energy consumption of the pump,theoptimal speed mathematical model of centrifugal pump in the pipe network is established. Base on least-squares approach,with the flow- liftexperimental data of centrifugal pump,parameter identification method of centrifugal pump'smultivariableoptimal speed characteristics is proposed.Using AMESim,inthe fixed-speed mode,dual speed mode,the optimal speed mode,the variant operations of a ship's seawater cooling pipe network are simulated,respectively. The results show that compared to fixed speed mode or dual speed mode,the optimal speed mode not only greatly reduce the redundant seawater supply of the users but also the power consumption of centrifugal pump.
