Indexing, browsing, and searching of digital video

L'A. examine les methodes d'acces aux documents audiovisuels numeriques. Apres une premiere partie consacree aux normes d'encodage et de stockage de l'information video ainsi qu'aux moyens d'acces conventionnels, il s'interesse a la facon dont l'information peut et doit etre structuree et indexee automatiquement en scenes et en prises de facon a faciliter l'acces. Il traite des methodes de navigation et de recherche des videos numeriques, de l'evaluation des performances de recherche notamment avec le TREC (Text REtrieval Conference), de l'acces a partir de plateformes mobiles, et des futures tendances.
