Transfer of proton and electron in hydrogen-bonded chains

In this paper, we suggest a mechanism of charge transport in hydrogen-bonded chains where one electron is trapped by an antikink defect in proton sublattice. The bell-shaped electronic wave function, localized in the compression area of the proton sublattice, is found. It is called the electrosoliton state. The electrosoliton and the antikink defect in proton sublattice form an electrosoliton-antikink pair.
