Functional Anatomy of the Carpus in Flexion and Extension and in Radial and Ulnar Deviations: An In Vivo Two- and Three-Dimensional CT Study

The complexity of carpal functional anatomy necessitates sophisticated experimental devices for assessment. Moreover many points in our knowledge and comprehension of the wrist in physiological and pathological conditions remain obscure. It is thus a challenge to develop an accessible investigation method, that is easy to handle and constitutes an educational as well as a diagnostic means to study normal and pathological carpal biomechanics.
