STABILITY ANALYSIS FOR MORPHO-PHYSIOLOGICAL TRALTS IN GROUNDNUT

A set of 44 genotypes (including four checks) of spreading groundnut were evaluated for pod yield and its components over five years for stability analysis. Mean squares due to G x E interaction was significant for fodder yield, biological yield and harvest index only. Whereas non-linear component was significant for all the traits indicating the presence of variability among the genotypes governed by various environmental conditions prevailing in different years. Out of 44 genotypes studied, OSP 20 attained wider adaptability and stability for pod yield, while seven other genotypes viz., OSP 4, OSP 13, OSP 21, OSP 22, OSP 26, OSP 28, OSP 32 showed the adaptability specifically to better/favourable environments and three genotypes viz., OSP 19, OSP 27 and OSP 38 were specifically adapted to poor/unfavourable environment prevailed in dry farming areas of Saurashtra region.
