An apparatus for analyzing field information for a mobile communication service and a method thereof are provided to reduce man power and time for recognizing a signal overlapped area by automatically collecting the signal overlapped area where plural signals of base stations with similar strength are inputted. An apparatus for analyzing field information for a mobile communication service comprises a unit field managing unit(110), a quality measurement information collecting unit(120), a base station information collecting unit(130), a representative value selecting unit(140), a PN(Pseudo Noise) code arranging unit(150), and a signal overlapped area selecting unit(160). The unit field managing unit(110) divides a service area of each base station into set unit fields, and gives an identifier to each unit field. The quality measurement information collecting unit(120) collects quality measurement information from a quality measurement information managing apparatus, discriminates the quality measurement information according to the unit field, and stores the quality measurement information at a database. The base station information collecting unit(130) collects base station configuration information from a base station management apparatus, discriminates the base station configuration information according to the unit field, and stores the base station configuring information at the database. The representative value selecting unit(140) determines a representative SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) value for each PN code used in the unit field by referring to the SNR value for each PN code collected by the quality measurement information collecting unit(120). The PN code arranging unit(150) arranges the PN code according to the signal strength by referring to the representative SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) value for each PN code, sets the PN codes with higher signal strength as serving PN codes as many as a set number, and sets the remaining PN codes as active PN codes. The signal overlapped area selecting unit(160) determines unit fields, where the number of the serving PN codes and the number of the active PN codes are included more than set values, as signal overlapped areas and stores the identifiers of the determined signal overlapped areas at the database by referring to a process result of the PN code arranging unit(150).
