DETERMINATION OF THE VELOCITY OF PROPAGATION OF THE SECOND SOUND IN HELIUM II

A detailed description is given of the experiments on the observation of the second sound in helium II. The velocity of the second sound was measured with an accuracy up to 0·3 per cent in the temperature region l·36–2·19°K, and was used for calculation of the ratio of the superfluid and normal “parts” of the liquid according to Landau's theory.
