Practical examples of ISS systems

Abstract In this work we collect several practical examples that illustrate ISS-like properties of nonlinear finite dimensional systems. Depending on the nonlinearities involved we show under which conditions ISS, strong iISS, iISS or LISS property holds in these examples. Strict Lyapunov functions for these systems are provided. Supply rates or gains are calculated explicitly in most cases. Water tank, nonlinear damped elastic oscillator and nonlinear mathematical pendulum are considered as illustrative examples.
