Autumn and Winter Foods of the Spruce Grouse in Central Ontario

For the purposes of analysis, crops collected before the first snowfall (Table 1) were separated from those collected after (Table 2). There were 143 crops in the former sample and 37 in the latter. The volumetric percentages were obtained by drying the crop contents and placing them in a graduated flask in which they were subjected to a standard pressure.
