Analysis on(1/4)λ Short Circuit Line Surge Protective Device Based on Transmission Theory

The common signaling surge protective device(SPD) was usually carried out by gaseous discharge tube and semiconductor.Because of these protections'larger capacitance,and their wire inductance,if mounted on the microwave communication line,it would seriously affect signal's transmission performance.So a theory of transmission by transmission line was suggested,and using the principle of the(1 /4) λ short circuit line,one kind of SPD was designed.This kind of SPD's structure was simple.The attenuation of the signal was small,and the inhibiting capacity of the lightning wave was very great.It was applied in all kinds of microwave communication system,and the system was stable.
