ANDES - AN ENVIRONMENT FOR ANIMATED DISCRETE EVENT SIMULATION

ABSTRACT ANDES is a simulation environment being constructed as a part of the JADE software prototyping environment. Instead of textual traces, ANDES provides animated pictures of the state of a simulation. A wide spectrum of perspectives is built-in ranging from gross model logic to views of individual processes. In addition users may construct their own views from JADE primitives. The animations assist in debugging models, and may also be used to extract information on model content from real world operatives and convince managers of its correctness.
