Particle aggregates carried by the blood flow can lead to serious pathologies. To anticipate vascular cerebral accidents, it is important to be able to detect the smallest possible size. The classical detection is based on the Fourier analysis with its known limitations. The aim of this paper is to propose two techniques for emboli detection The first one is a parametric method which consists of constructing an information signal containing the signature change, the second method is the wavelet transformation that has proven to have some advantages over the classical FFT-based algorithm. The proposed methods sensitivity for emboli detection have been evaluated on simulated and experimental signals. A comparison between the proposed methods and Fourier transform method is presented and shows that the parametric method has the highest accuracy for emboli detection.
