EDUCATION: THE NASA-UMES SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (NUSIP)

A NASA funded summer internship program at the Universiry of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMEV was designed to provide some undergraduare Engineering, Engineering Technology and Aviation Science majors very unique professional experiences by matching them with menfors in the NASA Wallops Facilities. Six undergraduate students worked on several projects during a IO-week summer internship program at the NASA Wallops Fociliries. The students participated in several activities. held bi- weekly meetings io report on their acrivities, wrore afinal reporr and made ofinalpresentarion to both NASA stafand the UMES faculty. This paper examines the experiences specific IO the Engineering and Engineering Technology students thar participated in the program and how the internship ar NASA has afected their educational objectives.
