An Efficient Variant of the ICP Algorithm for Multi-view Registration

In reverse engineering, multi -registration plays an important role in the process of collection and management for 3D data points, which directly influences the whole definition and the following model reconstruction of 3D digital. The ICP (Iterative Closest Point) algorithm is the standard for multi-view registration of three dimensional models when an initial relative pose estimate is available. This paper analyses the ICP algorithm and many of variants, presents a novel variant of ICP algorithm based on space order segment. Experiment result shows the algorithm has good speed computing.
