Chaos based encryption technique for digital images

With the development of the Internet and multimedia technology, more and more information including audio, images, and other multimedia, are being transmitted over the Internet. Due to some intrinsic features of images, such as bulk data capacity and high correlation among pixels, traditional encryption algorithms are not suitable for practical image encryption. In recent years, the image encryption technologies based on chaos theory have been developed to overcome the disadvantages present in traditional encryption techniques. In this paper two such encryption algorithms are discussed and analyzed. A new technique combining the benefits of the two systems has been proposed.
