A taxonomy for learning object technology

The objective of this study was to determine how object technology learning takes place and the complexities associated with the learning process from the software practitioner's view. In this paper we investigate the cognitive factors that are likely to impact object-technology adoption or implementation. This paper reports the results of a field investigation conducted on thirteen U.S. corporations and provides an taxonomy for learning object-oriented technology. This model will aid practitioners who are in need of guidance in transferring their skills from the procedural paradigm to the object paradigm as well as provide guidance for curriculum developers confronted with teaching object-oriented coding and design.
