Study on Long-term Stability of 110 kV Power Optical Sensor Solution-optical Current Transducer

With the substation entering new stage of the digital development, as one of main electrical equipments of the substation, traditional current transducer already can't adapt the process of digitization. So Optical Current Transducer (abbreviation OCT) by its advantages such as excellent insulation properties, non-transient magnetic saturation, dynamic Range, wide frequency response, easy-to-digital interface devices has become the tradition current transformer's substitute. However, in our country novel OCTs don't have enough the experience of long-term reliable operation. A new kind of Power Optical Sensor Solution-Optical Current Transducer (abbreviation POSS-OCT) is presented in this paper, the working principle and running states are given. This tentative operation by the way of tradition current transducer and OCT parallel running, is our country's first example in OCTs operation, has simultaneously carried on comprehensive test on OCT's accuracy and the reliability. For promoting the digital substation's process, it has significant meaning. In addition, the problem which OCTs operate in traditional substation has also been researched in this paper. POSS-OCT is installed in 110 kV tension strings of Xigangzi substation in Heihe city of Heilongjiang province and has been working continuously twelve months. The operating results indicate that comparing with the traditionelectrical power system's transducer OCT's warp is less than 10/00, so than it can satisfy the modern electrical power system's request.
