Global sliding mode attitude control for flexible satellite with a rotating antenna

In this paper, a kind of global sliding mode attitude control method is investigated for the flexible satellite with a rotating antenna. The influence of the rotating antenna on the system stability is analyzed. Firstly, a global sliding mode attitude controller is proposed and has the advantage of global robustness because it skips the reaching phase and forces the system state on the sliding mode at the initial time. On this basis, feedforward compensation is introduced into the attitude control system to improve the control performance. Simulation results show that the proposed methods can effectively suppress the disturbances produced by the antenna rotation, and the attitude precision and stability can satisfy the expected requirements.
