Real-Time Tracking of Pedestrians and Vehicles

We presentresultsfrom a tracker which is part of the integratedsurveillancesystemADVISORwhich is designedto operate in real-timein a distributed local networkof offthe-shelfcomputer s. For PETS2001, our indoorpeopletracker hasbeenmodified to includethe tracking of vehiclesin outdoorscenes. An effort hasbeenmadeonly to usesimpletechniquesin thesemodifications.Solutionsincludesplittingandmerging of regionswhich havebeenprocessedby themotiondetector, as well as the temporal incorporation of static objects into thebackgroundimage.
