A Differential Self-Integration D-Dot Voltage Sensor and Experimental Research

An electronic voltage transformer with self-integral D-dot sensor is proposed for measuring high-voltage signals based on the principle of the D-dot measurement. The D-dot sensor can realize the potential detection of the conductor in a noncontact way according to the principle of electric field coupling. The application of the parallel and differential structure of multiple electrodes can operate sensor work in self-integration mode and achieve a good phase-frequency characteristic while the volume is smaller. Ansoft Maxwell was used to model and simulate the D-dot sensor. The optimization of sensor structure design parameters are obtained through finite-element simulation. The sensor has been produced preliminarily to carry out an error and transient performance test under the 2-kV voltage level. The test results show that the new sensor can meet the exact measurement requirements and have good transient characteristics.
