Singular value decomposition method for voltage stability analysis on the National Grid system (NGC)

Voltage stability is an important factor that needs to be taken into account in the planning and operation of modern power systems. From the voltage stability analysis point of view, system operators need to know not only the severity of their system, but also the mechanisms that cause voltage instability. This article applies a singular value decomposition method to voltage stability analysis in such areas as calculating voltage stability index, identifying the most weakest buses and areas, and ranking transmission lines. The proposed approach has been tested on the NGC system, and the test results are presented in the article.
