The Design of a Discrete Multivariable Control System for a 35.000 HP Capacity Ship Boiler

Abstract A multivariable control system is designed for a large scale ship boiler. The design is based on concepts of modern control theory and extensive use of all digital real time simulation. This paper describes in particular an application of linear regulator theory in the design of multivariable control systems for nonlinear processes.
