Field-circuit cooperated simulation of field-transmission line coupling

This present paper is a farther application of earlier investigation of transmission line model relating to the field-transmission line coupling. A modified model was derived before based on the Taylor model, and the distributed excitation source terms in this modified model are expressed in total field components rather than incident field ones. Combined with electrocircuit and electromagnetic simulation platform, it becomes easy to realize the field-circuit cooperated simulation. To illustrate how this field-circuit cooperated simulation method be carried out in practice, three steps are adopted to compute the terminal voltage of a line above the perfect ground in the electromagnetic circumstance of a RF transmitter. The whole simulation process involves establishing system behavioural model of the RF transmitter and equivalent radiant antenna model, and estimating the terminal voltage or current along the transmission line based the modified transmission line model. The approach of field-circuit cooperated simulation employed here generally extends the transmission line model to a new application area, and also provides some reference for the system-level electromagnetic compatibility evaluation and predesigns.
