WHOLE FRAME LOSSRECOVERY FOR H.264/AVC INWIRELESS LOW BIT-RATEVIDEOTRANSMISSON

Wireless videotransmission isexpected toexperience wholeframe losses since data packets always carry awhole frame inlow-bitrate coding scenario. Inthis paper, anovel wholeframelossrecovery schemeisproposed. A vector mapVmapforeachframe isgenerated andencoded into the bitstream ofthenextframe. TheVmapcontains useful information fordecoder torecover themotion vector ofthe previous lost frame, andthecontent ofVmapisbasedon concealment modes, whicharedynamically decided while encoding by estimating themotionvariations through statistical analysis. Experimental results demonstrate that theproposed schemeisveryeffective indealing withthe wholeframe loss occurring inwireless video transmission.
