Simulation models for virtual commissioning

Machine manufacturers and their customers face new challenges due to the increasing share of software in PLC applications. Using virtual simulation models allows the designer to improve the control software prior to the commissioning phase and production to the ramp-up. Currently the model creation process is very time-consuming. In the following, scientists from the Technical University of Munich describe a method to automate the modelling process.
