Synchronization of Cell Division in Amoebae *

Synchronization of cell division has recently been produced or noted in a variety of cell types.'-* This report on Amoeba proteus includes some of the earlier workg mentioned in the publications of other and in our current work. With due apologies to A . proteus, most of our present work is done on other cell types; however, the enchanting behavior of this species would never permit us to forsake it.
