Maritime safety system using Bluetooth low energy and global positioning system

Communications are a key part of inshore fisheries and sailing vessels. Especially, it can be regarded as an essential element for the ship's safety. However, unlike terrestrial communication, there is a disadvantage in that fixed terrain cannot be used. Therefore, communications of maritime were common to use a satellite or combinations of VHF and satellite. However, in case of fishing vessels using marine resources, although they cannot prepare for marine accidents, they don't use those communications on the coast because of exposing their fishing positions such as their know-how. In this paper, we propose a system that can additionally contribute to preventing marine accidents as making a local network by using Bluetooth and notifying the dangerous situation at the coast.
